Over a weekend I was asked to create some “outside the box” ideas to support the Vikings and North Memorial. The goal was to drive awareness during Vikings game day and promote the two brands. Being from Minnesota, my plan was to ensure a unique tie-in to what makes us love this state. The first thing that popped into my head was ice fishing. I’ve never been into fishing but the idea and visual is completely a Minnesotan fad. Here I combined a bunch of ideas. I wanted to ensure true stopping power. Not just a tent handing out t-shirts, but a truly visual and enticing tactic to get visitors to sop by, even if it’s just for a photo op.
From the outside this shanty is unassuming. The inside was a completely different matter. I looked for a way to get the visitors to stay and learn a little bit. Give them a unique experience that they could share or win prizes.
This is the one that really got me excited. In all my years of watching sports the player is always the hero. The idea here is to place that spotlight where it belongs.. the true SPECIAL TEAMs.. the North Memorial nurses and doctors. The unsung heroes that are not looking for recognition, but to make their patients well again.
